Juxtaposing the natural scenography of the space, the organic light of the sun, and the artist’s ever-shifting dancing body, Ouvre mes yeux explores the codes of a fluid queer identity: is it superficial entertainment, transactional hypersexualization, or a cathartic spiritual awakening? What should be done with this wardrobe of sacred costumes?

Ouvre mes yeux marks the beginning of a new cycle of solo creation in which Charles-Alexis, now in his mid-thirties, refines and expands on the choreographic bodies developed in his previous work, L’appel des braises (2023), while infusing them with a new sensibility inspired by his recent inner journeys with psychedelic medicinal plants. In a truly immersive setting, the work unfolds in the creator’s actual residence, an artist’s loft located in the heart of Montreal.
